Bentsen Grove 2006 Summer Newsletter Guidelines

Bookmark this Guideline for reference when needed...

I have no set schedule for sending out B/G info. As I receive tidbits, I format them into an email newsletter. I check news items for grammar and spelling. When added info helps to clarify the message, I insert added info in parentheses, in light red.

The Newsletters contain glad as well as sad news of current and former B/Gers. If something needs immediate attention, I'll send a Newsletter out ASAP.

Please send your newsy items telling about activities, occasions, travels, as well as news you have of other B/Gers and former B/Gers. Don't assume that someone else has sent some news along to me...that often does not happen. Year around B/G residents remark that they learn of more of what goes on right there at B/G thru these Newsletters than they hear there from other residents. If a news item is sent by more than one person, each will have a different perspective. Never feel you have nothing to share. We all enjoy reading news from everywhere. Without such, there'd be no Summer Newsletters to send out.

When you do have something to be added for a Newsletter, I ask that you send it to me using Arial font, size #10. I found it is the font that most B/Gers signed up for the Summer Newsletters seem to prefer. Use upper and lower case type in your letters. If something is sent to me typed solely in upper case, I have to re-type that entire message. It is helpful to me when I can just cut and paste a message to insert in a Newsletter. I ask that you list your first & last name(s), B/G Lot #, what state, or Province you will be in this summer. If you're a Resident, type "Res". Summer locations were requested to be added to 2005 Newsletters. That detail is now a permanent inclusion. When your incoming message does not list your lot # or former B/G Lot #, or your summer location (State, Province, or Resident), I will put a red question (?) mark where the missing info would be placed.

Each Newsletter closes with Let's end with Hope Here I list two (or more) web sites you can look into for information, education or just fun. Some sites will be intended for you to share with the youngsters in your life, or perhaps the child within you!

I do welcome all suggestions on how the Summer Newsletters might be changed, modified, improved upon.

I send out all Newsletter emails using "Bcc" (Blind Carbon Copy). This assures your email address is kept absolutely private. On occasion, someone will request another's email address. When this occurs, I email that person, forwarding the request that another wants to be in touch. I include the requesting party's email address, stating that it is entirely up to this individual to personally fulfill the request, or not. I email a reply to the requesting person, noting action I took.

If you change your Email address, please send me the new one ASAP, so that I can change it for the future Newsletters. Otherwise, I get them back as "undeliverable". I have no way to contact you. ISP's do not have a mechanism in place to forward your mail to new ISP new address.

Understand that this is only a seasonal activity with me, not year 'round, from mid-April to mid-October, when most of us are scattered to the four winds.

In 2005, Harold Buechly (W05, OH), created a special web page for all the 2005 Summer Newsletters sent out. Many of you said that you found that web site very helpful. It's still available for your reference, at: http://www.buechly.com/hjones/bulletinselector.html

For 2006, Harold created a different web site, where the 2006 Summer Newsletters are saved. It is: www.buechly.com/hjones

PLEASE SAVE THIS MESSAGE FOR YOUR FUTURE REFERENCE.
