Plans for the new season

I’m sorry that I missed this seasons first Club meeting, but I will be back next week when I plan to jump right in with a series of tutorials intended for all skill levels.

The Tutorials

One way to think of the PC is as a device to store and manipulate data.  So for the first few weeks I will discuss Organizing Data. This week’s tutorial will be a review of the basics of computer hardware, firmware, and software. After this we will progress more rapidly. Please bring your questions to the club meeting where I will discuss the material presented in the attached links.

This material comes from Smart Computing Reference Series; Spring 2003-Vol. 7, Issue 1, Working With PC Files, pages 4-9 inclusive.

Note: To view some of the material in these tutorials it is necessary to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you do not have the reader it can be downloaded here-

Adobe Reader

As usual there will be time for discussion of other things including your questions and concerns. I look forward to seeing all of you at next week’s meeting.

Until then,

Happy computing,

Val Barron

LAST WEEK Our guest speaker, Charles Jones of Awesomenet talked about the internet. He also offered their collection of Windows updated on CD if you will stop by there office at 3525 N. 10th St., McAllen and pick one up.
